5 Fabulous Facial Treatments At Home

Good looks costs money, right? But do you know that you can be as beautiful without spending on costly skin care products? Simply choose home remedies and be beautiful and good looking, by exploiting the natural ingredients coming directly from your kitchen. You can decide which facial to opt for, depending on your skin type and on the availability of the ingredients. These facials can be done once a week, or before going for a party or for an occasion!!

Plan a spa day with some fabulous facial treatments!

NOTE: Just make sure to tie your hair back or use a headband, so that your hair is out of the way. Also, change into an old tee or tank top before you begin to avoid splattering your clothes with any facial goop!

1. SOOTHING FACIAL MASK (For sensitive skin)

You will need

  •  2 tablespoons oatmeal
  • 4 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • Utensils: small bowl, spoon

In a small bowl, mix oatmeal and yogurt into a paste. Smoothen the paste on to your skin and let it sit for 5 minutes. This is great for sunburns—just don’t scrub! Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry.

2. MOISTURIZING AVOCADO MASK (For dry skin)

You will need

  • ½ avocado
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Utensils: spoon, big bowl, fork

Peel and scoop out half an avocado. In a big bowl using a fork, mash the avocado with the honey. Apply the mixture on to your skin and let it sit for 5  minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry. Both ingredients pack a moisturizing punch!

 

3. BAKING SODA CLEANSER (For blackheads)

You will need

  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Utensils: small bowl,spoon

In a small bowl, stir the baking soda and water together. Then, focusing on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) gently rub the mixture on to your skin and let it sit for two minutes. This will help loosen stubborn blackheads. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry.

 

4.  STRAWBERRY SCRUB ( For all types of skin)

You will need

  • ½ cup strawberries
  • 4 tablespoons yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Utensils: knife,large bowl,fork

Remove the strawberry stems and chop the berries into small pieces. In a big bowl using a fork, mash the strawberries with the yogurt and the honey. Apply the mixture onto your skin and leave it for 5 minutes to tighten your pores and exfoliate dead skin cells. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry.

 

5. BROWN SUGAR SCRUB (All types of skin except sensitive)

You will need

  • 1 tablespoon soft brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Utensils; small bowl, spoon

In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, yogurt and honey well, until it makes a paste. Rub it gently over your skin for a  minute or two to exfoliate skin. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry.

ADD-ONS

How to scrub correctly?
Splash water on your face. Take one tablespoon scrub and gently massage all over your face and neck avoiding the under-eye area. Don’t apply too much pressure and do not keep scrubbing for more than two minutes. You may scrub a little harder on the T-zone area of face.

How many times should you exfoliate?
Normal skin: Exfoliate twice or thrice a week
Dry skin: Exfoliate not more than twice a week
Combination skin: Exfoliate twice a week
Oily skin: Exfoliate twice a week
Sensitive skin: Exfoliate once a week only
