Shoes, shoes everywhere but nothing to wear.
Now, this is the reality in almost every women’s life that I know and don’t know.Say,you’re going on a day-long walking tour ,but all you have in your closet are, high-heels(which would totally kill your feet!) and some worn-out looking flats. Sure, there is a pair of converse in there, but the day is too hot. So you end up with a cluttered room and a cancelled trip.
In order to avoid this situation,I took the matter into my “capable” hands to give you some sage advice on the eight types of shoes every women should have in her closet.Yes,I know ,different women, different choices, blah blah and the fact that all of us are like,a unique snowflake or something BUT! you never know.
Here we go.
I personally find boots very useful. In the winters, boots keep you warm and you look great and in the summers, you can go for a mid-calf boot to not look overstuffed. When it rains, your Wellingtons will enable you to walk through puddles like a boss(I hate wet feet).Boots come with heels and without,so you can purchase both comfort and height.I say,you need to own a pair or two of boots ,according to your preference of course, since there are way more types of boots around.
How to wear: Paired with skinny denims or jeggings is the perfect look.Otherwise,thigh-high boots or Ugg boots can be worn with mini skirts, shorts or maybe a short dress.
Ankle boots are like, these petite versions of the mainstream boots. If you don’t prefer boots in the summer,ankle-boots are perfect for you.High heeled ones are very attractive though.
How to wear: Pair it with cropped jeans or jodhpurs or a knee-length midi skirt.
So classy. Stilettos are a must because I think it kind of adds this “classiness” to the whole look so, you can’t not have a stiletto. And yes,Cinderellaaaa!
How to wear: You can wear stilettos with just about anything, but its perfect when paired with a formal wear.
For me,Platforms and Wedges are night-out/ day-out staples. If you don’t feel like wearing a stiletto,Platforms/Wedges will save the day.According to your preference, you can choose between the chunky types,open-toed,ankle strapped, and many more.
How to wear:T-shirt and jeans girls can opt for it to look more dressy. If you have dresses in more solid colors ,then go for the nudes or neutrals.”Girly” girls already owns it,so no comment.
I love Ballerinas. They are really comfortable, are available in a variety of colors and designs and are perfect for a non-high-heeled day.Ballerinas are flat so it can be comfortably worn when out shopping(won’t harm your feet)but still make you look presentable ,on a date,or just for your day-to-day errands.
How to wear: Simple black ones are perfect with any attire from jeans to skirts.Go for more printed and colorful ones for variety.
The thong sandals are a rage these days and we know, these are summer territories.Thong sandals are super attractive and comfortable and gives such a laid-back,carefree look. And apart from the leathery, strappy ones, also available are the jewel- crusted sandals for a formal tone.
How to wear: Pair it with shorts,Maxis, flowy skirts or any pants. If you are wearing something ankle-baring,then a pretty anklet with the sandals will do wonders.
7.Slip-on (Moccasins,Loafers & Oxfords)
Slip-on shoes are one of my favorites. The artistic and bohemian tone of the Moccasins and loafers and the elegant feel of the Oxfords, nothing can beat them. Also, these are actually retro designs so,there you go.
How to wear: Harems, cuffed or cropped pants,Skirts, frocks and yes, with shorts too.More sporty ones are also available to set a playful tone.
When I’m in the mood to go boyish,I choose a converse.It’s very comfortable,kinda gender-blind and something about it speaks “swag”(to me).This is a must-have.You don’t have a choice.Ha!
How to wear: Converse looks really cool with skinny pants or shorts. Not to mention,yoga-pants and those swaggy looking jodhpurs that I always attach with Rita Ora.
I hope I have covered everything. There are more, but these are the essentials although, your suggestions are always welcome.
