Every Body Is A Bikini Body

New year is just so incomplete without  resolutions. With most of us fashionistas trying hard to maintain a passably good shape, let’s push it up a notch. Bikini bodies, anyone?! Tackling stereotypes and body shaming, we move beyond a highly eulogised and uniform single ‘body type’. So, you feel your physique does not come under the ‘ Bikini body’ label? Well I am here to prove there is no such label!

Every body is a bikini body.

1. The Coveted Hourglass

a.k.a.Ladies we all envy. You are sultry goddesses with bust and butt equaling in inches, with a tiny waist. Cake with frosting, and perhaps a cherry on top. And yes, they have sub-types too.

(a) Butternut Squash: A 10 inch difference in the bust and waist measurement. Super curvy of the lot. Your main focus is to draw attention away from your prominent assets and make the eyes linger longer on your waist and neck.

Go for: halter tops with under-wire, and full coverage bikini bottoms to rock it out.

Avoid: solid colors, mismatched two-pieces.

(b) Carrot: Or a stretched hourglass, also called the vase figure. A 6-8 inch slimmer waist as compared to the symmetrical top/bottom, not as curvaceous, but lesser the worry. You can pull of skimpier styles with ease. Look for embellished bikini tops or bandeau , string bottoms in solid colours, steering clear of sporty ones. Go strut your stuff, woman!

2. The Gorgeous Apples

Your cup size is every woman’s dream. Your waist is not very well defined from the bust, your bottom skinnier; could it get any better to get sultry without even trying?! You could rock a monokini or look ultra feminine in a tank type two-piece, getting the coverage and the looks. Additionals on the waist, to create an impression of curves, is a great idea for the typical bikini look. Look for supportive tops, eye catchy colours and delicate designs.

3. The Sexy Broccoli

Aka the inverted triangle, your figure is just a stretch at the applicious girls above, differentiated by a waist not much separated visually from the hips. Shapely butts and a fuller bust-line, you women are sultry queens too. Experiment with an unmatched hipster bikini , or shape-wear as bottoms. Supportive graphic prints shall work wonders for the top, to take the eye away from the obvious. You can pull off sporty bottoms with ease.

4. The Dreamy Pear

The most common body type, every man’s eye candy. A heavier bottom, slim waist, a good bosom. There are hardly any rules for you when it comes to choosing a suitable bikini, but let’s focus at making you feel greatly special, too. Try out: hipster or trunk/shorts type or full-coverage bottoms in solid colours. For the top, go for padding, delicate prints or cleavage detailing. Throw in some chains for added glamour.

5. The Impressive Straights

You, my ramp-ready lasses, have great advantages. With less prominent curves, you fret less about hiding. Welcome to the categories:

(a) Banana: Generally petite, flat bodied and straight figured. The most suitable fashion-models, they are a rage on the ramp. Also called the ‘size small’, small bust and butt are their marking. They are the best when it comes to rocking a bikini, day in day out. Stay away from modest covering bottoms, triangle or halter tops, and boyish cuts. work on accentuating your upper half by trying on strings, contrasting colour schemes, less prints more drama. For the bottom, stick to Brazilian cuts.

(b) Column: These are the super tall, column resembling women. Lean and slightly muscular, lacking in generous curves, you are the easiest to dress. Anything you wear, you shall look impressive. But there are a few things to keep in mind while choosing a bikini. No bandeau tops or sporty bottoms. If your straight body bores you, try on padded tops with gatherings and ruffles, and shape-wear padded bottoms. If confidence is your strength, opt for the skimpiest two-piece in the richest of solid colour, walk with panache!

(c)Brick:  (or the athletic figure) You strong bodied lasses have a less defined back and chest, broad shoulders, muscular legs and abs, less curves, a toned physique all in all. Cups and padded bikini tops shall go well for you. Floral prints and a few accessories shall add to the sexy effect. Avoid bandeaus. For the bottom, go skimpy or sporty to show off your fit self. Deep cuts and hipsters are day-savers too. Veer away from shapeless or boyish patterns.
